Pagan Bookworms: The Steel Phoenix Book Discussion Group   1 comment

The first meeting was very productive! We made a reading list for the rest of the year. We gave non fiction books two months, alternating with one month for fiction (except for Mist of Avalon, because it’s huge). We are hoping to have some local authors come in and discuss their books with us as well. Although the readings are recommended, they are certainly not required. Folks are welcome to come listen about the books and join in any discussions sparked by the books. We also understand that different books will have different folks interested in them, and that the make up of the group will vary greatly. All are welcome, at any time.

Book Discussion Group   Leave a comment

A new discussion group is forming! An offshoot of the Steel Phoenix Writers Group, this will be a book discussion group.

The first meeting will be Thursday, February 9th, at 7PM at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at the Monroeville Mall. No books are “due” this first meeting, rather a discussion on what books we want to read, how we want to read them (a book a month, a chapter a month, …), possible names for the group, and related activities will take place. Other events planned for future meetings include meet the author nights, readings, and book signings.

The first book up for discussion will be Ruth Barrett’s Women’s Rites, Women’s Mysteries: Intuitive Ritual Creation. I know at least one copy is available at Eye of Nuit (for those wanting hard copy, the book is also available for the kindle). Snowy, the wonderful owner at Eye of Nuit, has offered to order books for the group, once we’re organized.

Please contact Blossom for more information.

So come join us every second Thursday!
